ghd curve (SP)

You may have seen my post about the new ghd platinum – ghd’s best styler ever! Now if you too are crowing about the platinum then wait – it gets better. ghd’s innovative range of wands and tongs, ghd curve, also features their intelligent tri-zone technology for healthier looking curls and waves that stay locked-in all day and night.

To achieve my look in the pics above and below, I used the ghd curve classic wave wand for big, tousled waves. As there is no clasp on the wand it allows for a more relaxed wave where the end is naturally left out as you are holding it in your fingers.

Simply section your hair in roughly 4x4cm chunks. It doesn’t have to be perfect as it will all be brushed out anyway. The most important thing when curling your hair for consistency, is to always start the first bend at the same place along the hair (around the level just above your cheekbone). Always curl the hair away from your face to open you up.

Brush out your curls with a ghd detangling comb and and then separate with your finger tips for that tousled look. Finish with a mist of ghd style final fix hairspray and voila- you’re tousled baby.

If it’s a more glamorous curl or wave you’re after, then go for one of the ghd curve tongs and brush out with a paddle brush – Hollywood glam to the hilt!

Love having a good hair day with your ghd curve? Celebrate ghd curve’s first birthday by sharing with us your curls and waves on Instagram with #curldiaries.

Introducing Rachel’s (SP)

I don’t know about you guys but I can’t go to bed without a sweet treat after dinner and imagine my unbridled joy when I discovered the brand new Rachel’s Gourmet Greek Dessert Yoghurt range. It’s better than ice cream. I promise.

It’s as if the team from Rachel’s knew about my obsession with anything salted caramel. Think macarons, donuts, chocolate, eclairs, churro sauce- yep, if it has ‘salted caramel’ in the description then I am SOLD. And now, the thickest, creamiest, most divine, lip smackingly scrumptious dessert yoghurt you can ever imagine carries the on trend flavour of salted caramel. Am I rabbiting on too much? No- just try it and you’ll know what I mean.

So much love do I have for this flavour that when I got around to taking the photos of the product for this very blog post, I realised I couldn’t shoot it as there was none left. Yep, I had eaten it all. Oops. So I got some more sent in and voila, salted caramel shot is IN. Ha ha!

Add to the range Butterscotch and Vanilla Bean and juicy Boysenberry and Vanilla and you have the perfect combination of unique flavours to satisfy any sweet tooth’s craving.

Of course this dessert yoghurt can be enjoyed at any time of day (Boysenberry and Vanilla for breakfast anyone? At least I’m getting my fruit serve in early!), or a treat at work, but I encourage you to enjoy them as you like, in the moment, savouring the thick, creamy deliciousness for yourself.

Find it at Woolworths and Coles and thank me later. rachels 1 rachels 4 rachels 5 rachels 6 Rachels 8

Often when we think about furnishing our homes we conjure up images of natural materials like timber, stone and marble against soft textures like wool, silk and leather. But right now, in interiors land, we’re also hot for a bit of wire. Yep, you heard right, wire.

The sculptural shapes wire can create mean it is being used to make all manner of furniture and homewares. What’s beautiful about it is that it looks delicate but is in fact surprisingly sturdy. It can be woven to create highly decorative shapes or formed into more radical, minimalist structures. Plus it’s super practical – often having dual indoor and outdoor use – with a light and airy feel in the sense that there’s nothing blocky or heavy about it.

So whether it’s a linear, powder-coated, steel wire barstool or a hand crocheted copper wire pendant, make room for some wire in your home. Here are some of my current favourite pieces. What I love about them is the fact they can be purely decorative, outstandingly functional – or both!

Be still my beating heart!!! This utterly divine crocheted copper wire pendant light is one of three designs just launched by Lightly. How glam are these Smallwire tables designed by Arik Levy for Zanotta? Multiple colours and sizes and available from Space Furniture. I’m adding one to my wish list!

Introducing Atelier/Child today, a new luxury children’s knitwear label which has launched this week.

The brain child of Georgie Abay and Jessica Baird Walsh, Atelier/Child first caught my eye while I was having an Instagram sticky beak (as you do) a couple of months back. Bold animal print, graphic stripes and muted camouflage,  fashion’s most classic prints, are super wearable in a gorgeous and fun offering that style conscious mums (and kids!) will love.

Featuring crew neck knits, scarves, beanies and blankets, this range will be the new breed of mini classics.

“Atelier/Child combines statement luxury with the wearability that children demand. We have sourced the finest natural yarns to create beautiful heirloom quality knits that mothers will love to own, and children will love to wear. Our baby blankets make the ultimate gift for a new baby and are a perfect eye-catching piece for every new mother’s nursery or stroller,” says Baird Walsh.

Appropriate for kids up to seven years in age, I’m going to be a keen follower of Atelier/Child and already look forward to what the next range has in store. In possibly the biggest compliment to a new fashion label, iconic Melbourne designer womenswear boutique Le Louvre, will play host to an Atelier/Child pop up store until July 31st. Sitting alongside brands such as Celine and Givenchy, this is the first time Le Louvre has carried a childrenswear brand. What a way to make a first impression!

Resort 2016 – Aussie Style

The word “holiday” inevitably comes to mind when I think of resort wear. And let’s face it, who doesn’t want to look fabulous on holiday!  Commonly referred to as “cruise” or “first summer”, resort wear has become increasingly important to designers and consumers both locally and internationally.  In Australia, it provides a timely drop of party dresses and separates for end of year celebrations, and overseas, a constant flow of new product in stores perfect for maintaining momentum between seasons.

But one of the best things about resort wear is that we’re home to some of the most talented designers on the planet, who happen to have a serious knack for creating fresh, versatile and effortless trans seasonal looks. I’m talking designers like Maticevski, Alex Perry, Zimmermann, Dion Lee and Camilla & Marc to name a few.  Their resort look books this year are SO freaking good, we just had to share our favourites with you. Although most of these styles won’t drop until November/December, there’s no harm in planning ahead for the all important party season, right ladies?!
