The best of DENFAIR 2017

The highlight of Australia’s design calendar was on this past week in Melbourne, DENFAIR – an incredible celebration of international and local interior design and innovation. Held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, DENFAIR occupied over 12,000 square meters of beautifully designed and curated spaces featuring over 350 design brands including well-known internationals such as Ligne Roset, Thonet, Fermob, BD Barcelona, Conde house, Fogia, Kettal, Arket plus 100+ original Australian brands and designers. Every aspect of the show experience had been considered and designed – from the cafes and restaurants, to the installations and creative activations.

At the centre of the DENFAIR experience was the Belle Restaurant/Oyster Bar – a meeting place of food, design and industry. Fiona Lynch Studio tapped into it’s hallmark artistic approach to inventive use of space, materials and custom detail – adopting a palette of various textures, unexpected interactions and horizontal mirrored bands to play with perception and interrupt the norm.

This year over 8000 people visited DENFAIR across the 3 days of the show with the third day open to the design passionate public. And it’s clear that DENFAIR is not only the highlight of Australia’s design calendar, but now stands as one of the world’s freshest emerging design events. Here is a round up of some of our favourite designers from the show…
