Winter is Coming

Like it or not, the days are getting shorter and cooler and now is the time to start thinking about cocooning. Tricking up your home so it feels cozy and welcoming can be as easy as swapping over your cushions and throws, mixing up the bed linen by adding some moody hues, cranking up the home fragrance and playing with the lighting. We’ve put together some of our favourite pieces to show you what we’ll be introducing to our own homes over the coming months. Just add open fires, lazy lie-ins, a good book and maybe a little glass of red if the sun is over the yardarm… oh, happy days.

cultiverAbove: Even the woofer gets to snooze on the pillows at Cultiver. This bedlinen is sublime and the winter palette is all about greys and lilac-y highlights.

cloud_blankets_03-960x570Above: The ‘Cloud’ blanket from Jardan is just that – a heavenly cloud of loosely knit, chunky yarn with natural variances in colour and width. Go on, snuggle up!

2_xx_2_1 (13)Above: HK Living has your winter cushions sorted. Plaids, cable knits, felted wool, faded grey denim. All those beautiful textures in one place – divine. For stockists contact

amp2Above: Talk about seriously sexy lighting. Get a load of these smokey glass ‘Amp’ lights from Huset. They’re made by Norman Copenhagen and are inspired by the old tube amplifiers of the 1960s. Moody and sophisticated all rolled into one. Or maybe three!

Beni 1Above: A new rug can change the look and feel of your room in an instant. We are all lusting after an original vintage Beni Ourian rug woven in Morocco. Can’t you just see yourself curled up on that with a glass of red in front of the fire?  Try Halcyon Lake – they have some great options in stock right now.

Above: Nothing looks better thrown over a chair or sofa in winter than a gorgeously shaggy Icelandic sheepskin.  As they become more popular they are also becoming easier to find. Try Mr & Mrs White.

ESSENTIAL_OIL_BURNER4Above: If you like home fragrance, then try this super stylish oil burner. We love its industrial feel with its black frame and concrete base. Available from Page Thirty Three.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAbove: These simple, earthy ceramics in a muted colour palette are perfect for a winter vignette. They’re by HK Living and are available through House of Orange as before.
