The Portsea Polo never fails to IMPRESS! For me, it is the social highlight of the year. I love that it’s smack bang in the middle of summer and everyone has that relaxed vibe going on. It’s a huge party atmosphere on the beach and the hospitality is second to none.
This year we enjoyed sensational catering by Tommy Collins (here). The espresso martinis were a big hit and came complete with chocolate doughnut- YUM! The crispy chicken sandwiches and beef burgers were also a crowd pleaser.
Lets talk Champagne now and we were lucky enough to be supplied with Chassenay d’Arce (here)- a top ten champagne in the world. It was delightful (the Rose was my fave) and I highly recommend when you are next looking for a bottle of bubbles. My hangover the next day was testament to just how delicious it was!
Portsea Polo fashion is all about a summer, relaxed, party vibe. Think maxis, jumpsuits, flats, wedges and straw hats. I was super, duper, pinching myself, lucky that my best boys at J’Aton Couture offered to make me something for the polo. When I suggested a jumpsuit, boy did they deliver. I have never and will probably never see another jumpsuit like it. Using gorgeous Valentino mesh and floral lace they designed me a Neoclassical sheer couture outfit which looked as if it had a basket of flowers growing out of my back. As it was very short we made sure we added a long sleeve and a high neck. It was fixed with hand sewn pearls and the most delicate of tulle. I am so lucky to have these talents in my life- they are inimitable.
I hope you enjoy the pics below from the initial fittings at J’Aton to some candid snaps from throughout the day.
