Renowned Australian designer (and one of our all time faves) Toni Maticevski, celebrated a career milestone on Sunday presenting his first runway show in Paris during haute couture fashion week.
Inspired by figurative artist Anna-Wili Highfield’s paper sculptures, Maticevski’s resort offering presented exquisitely crafted garments in luxe fabrications with his trademark sculptural and feminine silhouettes. From eye catching metallic brocade and detailed floral appliqué, to digital prints and a return to tailoring, the Maticevski woman is effortlessly stylish, practical and knows exactly where she’s headed.
What’s most impressive (aside from the undeniable beauty and quality of the garments), is Maticevski’s ability to expertly portray elegance and femininity with an unmistakeable undercurrent of grittiness, bringing a unique edge to his designs that sets him apart from the masses. And with a flourishing international business that continues to grow from strength to strength, it seems there’s no stopping Maticevski. And we wouldn’t have it any other way!
