Billie Turns One

My baby girl turned one yesterday. It’s hard to believe an entire year has passed since she came into the world. It has flown by and now she is a big girl who has been strutting around for a while and starting to say a few words.

Looking back at Oscar’s 3 and half years so far, the age of one and two have definitely been my favourite years. They are so sweet, precious, funny but most of all innocent (he certainly gets up to some mischief now and he knows how to lie!).

Poppies for Grace did Billie’s party decorations in the Good Front Room (GFR). My Miranda Skoczek zebra artwork was not coming off the wall (I’m too scared to move it!) so the decorations were chosen to complement the painting and pull it all together. These girls are the best in the bizz and styled the most gorgeous hand made paper, balloon, confetti and garland pieces in jewel tones. The bay window installation was a winner and the ‘paper chandelier’ scenario over the dessert table was nothing short of spectacular. Poppies for Grace party wares are fun, super stylish and you can’t help but have a big cheesy grin on your face when you look at them- ahhhh pretty. Oh and the tableware is caaaa-yute! Check it out.

Treats for Evie supplied my watercoloured dessert concoctions. Kathleen from TFE worked with Poppies for Grace to nail the colour scheme of their installations and also my floral preference of big, colour blocked bunches of lilac and blue hydrangeas. The vanilla bean, raspberry and white chocolate cake was covered in Italian meringue and featured handmade hydrangea blooms crawling up its sides with lashes of watercoloured icing in purple, teal and green. Custom cut ‘B’ and ‘1’ cookies were also adorned in watercolour splashes of raspberry and gold leaf highlights. Best on ground though were most certainly the cupcakes- almond, blackberry and coconut with cream cheese icing. Heaven.

My hydrangeas (and current flower obsession- the only bloody flowers which don’t make me sneeze my head off!) were from the lovely Kate Hill Flowers. So many guests commented on their vibrant colour. They were seriously stunning. I currently have them scattered throughout my house. Don’t you think that having gorgeous, fresh flowers in your home is the ultimate mood lifter?

I hope you enjoy the pics and thanks to everyone who helped on the day or celebrated with us.
